A Break for my Baby

As many of you know I am expecting my first baby 6 weeks (yes...6 weeks!!!) today so I am taking a break from Memory Is Art. Much as I love my little business I do not have the energy to give it what it deserves and once gave willingly so I am taking a break.

Anyone who wants to contact me feel free to do so and I will still be accepting some commissions, but for now this blog and its shops will have to remain closed. Temporarily I hope!!

Calender Pages

These are the two newest pages from the pregnancy journal...there will eventually be one of these for each month of my pregnancy...

The frames, rose & nest are curled and raised from the background with different depth spacers. The little nest on the March one reads 'Daddy' in blue ink...its hard to see on the scan...it is the baby's Daddy's Birthday...

I am actually really happy with them!!

Pink Carnation Chocolate Cupcake Card

My friend Kelly asked me to create a Cupcake card with a pink theme for her Mum for Mother's Day next sunday. This is what I created.

The card was created from one of my own photographs, with decoupaged, curled & overlapped card layers depicting a Chocolate Cupcake topped with a tiny, dainty pink carnation.

I baked this cupcake, decorated it and photographed it against blue and pink wrapping paper...

I know, I know...this is not a food blog...but I have been feeling so awful with a cold the last week that food, or rather cooking, is my therapy!!

They were chicken, bacon and leek...and they were gorgeous ;)

Chocolate & Pink Carnation Cupcakes

I baked and decorated some cupcakes today for a Mother's Day card for a friend...she wanted pink so I topped the cakes with tiny pink carnations...

I love baking cupcakes more than any other kind of cake so I never miss an opportunity to make some!

I will post the finished card once it is complete ;)

After finishing the photoshoot I found someone hindering progress :D

Strawberry Shortcake Cookies

The edges are crunchy, the centres damp and soft....in short they are perfect....

The recipe calls for them to be eaten today....no problem ;)

Parisienne Porcelain

I am obsessed with little things that make me smile at the moment. These Porcelain Cups and Saucers were brought back by my late Grandpa and Nanna from Paris in the 1950s and I love the thought that I can pass them on to my child one day and that she or he will know they have been loved and used by 3 generations of their family before them. I feel my Nanna every time I used them or her Art Deco Tea set and I smile ;)
